****NEWS FLASH****

On March 23, 2009, prior to noon Jildou, our Oege daughter gave us a Doaitsen filly.  We are absolutely delighted.  She is pictured in all of the above photos.  She has the wavey, almost "persian lamb coat" that her half sister, Brecht had at birth, but boy did she come in jet black smooth, as silk coat.  The filly has curly mane, curly forelock and really wavey thick tail.  She appears to be going to have that almost stallion amount of hair, like her mother,  which is what her adorable half sister is going to have too.  We just can't wait to watch yet another princess grow up here on our farm.  

We wish to thank the Tamminga family for their on going love of Jildou and for passing on her foaling history, to make the longer waiting of this filly, perhaps a little bit less stressful.  We hope that Jildou makes you proud and that your love of her, lives on through all the efforts we make, to bring out the very best for her and her progeny, and just knowing the happiness they bring to us, in Canada.  We would now like to introduce to the world,  Jildou's new 2009 filly, Fentje, which now has her own page under, "Fentje 2009 Filly"
          

 Just one month ago, Xandra had a strong, healthy Tsjerk X Olaf colt on February 23, 2009, 2a.m. E.S.T., which is a full brother to our 2008 colt, Bojka.  We are very happy that it was a colt, as we really like Bojka.  Either way it was a win/win for us.  This colt was up and walking almost right away and walked around for an hour and had great sucking reflex and nursed all on his own, without help.  Xandra is fine too.

Thank you Annet & Sjaak, from Holland, for phoning us Sunday and giving us a heads up on her foaling history and alerting us that she foaled fast after she waxed.

Xandra & Jildou have both had foals in 2009, with Xandra having hers on February 23th and Jildou had her filly on March 23rd.

  Xandra & Jildou are best friends and are side by side in the stable and we hope that their foals will have the chance again this year to be together, like last year. 

Xandra has a repeat breeding to Tsjerk.  Her 2008 foal was 1st Premie Reserve Champion at his Keuring, and is outstanding.

Jildou had an outstanding filly in 2008 by Fabe.

Xandra's 2008 foal looks forward to our interaction, and time grooming.  This 2008 foal is absolutely stunning, true breathtaking total body balance and movement.  His face is chiseled, with the most beautiful expression.  He impressed the judges in Holland, giving him 1st Premie (given only to roughly 5% in world), Reserve Champion with Racial Type (Breed Type) score 8.5 out of a possible 9 and Frame 8 out of 9, Development 8 out of 9, trot 8 out of 9. 

Life on our farm is halters on, halters off, leading, grooming, bear hugging our foals. Bojka is building our trust more and more each day, and runs up to give kisses and enjoys his daily grooming and has let us even give him bear hugs now. 

The foals we raise from birth on our farm, we play beat the drums lightly on their backs which is used to help facilitate them becoming comfortable with movement over their backs for future backing, in life down the road.  They have to move sideways by hand pressure to simulate a leg aid on their sides, for later in life too.  Everything we do, is to build trust. 

Jildou has fairy tale Friesian looks and when you look into her eyes, you see into her soul.  You always know what she is thinking, when you look into her eyes and she truly gives you, her heart.  She is a very gentle but firm mother, with firmness in a very gentle way.  She uses the end of her nose to scoot the foal around into place and sometimes out of places too, as they get older, like out of her feed bucket when the foal is older and has one of it's own.  Jildou watches her human's routine very closely and has been known to nudge her human along too with her nose, if we are moving too slow. 

Because Jildou is very people focused, this made her 2008 foal very people focused and would rather spend the time getting petted than eat. 

We hope that even with the different sire, that the imprinting by it's mother and us, that this foal will also be like the 2008 foal, which is interested in kissing your cheek or your nose with her upper lip or investigating your shoe laces or just loving getting groomed, super jet black and with the start of her mother's fairy tale looks & demeanor.

**NEWS FLASH** Doaitsen became Reserve Champion Stallion at the January 2009 Stallion Show in Holland.  Of the 38 young stallions that were narrowed down to at the January 2009 show, 3 of these stallions are Doaitsen offspring and therefore half-siblings to our 2009 expected foal from Jildou.
