Black Reign Friesians is the culmination and combined efforts of Paul and Lynn Ramsay. We have our horses for our own enjoyment, with Lynn having horses most of her life and Paul has shared this love of these magnificent and captivating, intelligent, beautiful horses.
Our primary focus with our Friesian mares is to first and foremost have solid, kind, temperaments with the physical ability for dressage, by having good conformation and movement. If after they achieve ster status, and only then, we, occasionally, will breed them to an appropriate sire. We are members of FHANA and breed accordingly, to FHANA approved stallions only.

We could not have been able to include all the wonderful Keuring pictures, without the patience and endless support of our wonderful friend, Heather McCullough. We thank her for all the behind the scenes help, as well.

This is when all the hard work has come together and this photo was taken just after our very own home bred colt went 1st Premie, which is only awarded to roughly 5% Friesian foals. You can see the shared happiness on our faces. The only one missing in this photo is Heather, our Keuring Photographer and our friend, Heather McCullough.
An on going part of the many individuals work, and the tireless efforts of our Veterinarians & staff here in Canada, at Miller Vet Services in Chatsworth & Dr. Mark Gallagher of Nottawasaga Vet Clinic, who supports our horses with acupuncture & chiropractic, adding his convential and holistic approach.
We would not be where we are, without our wonderful mentors in the Netherlands, Edith & Hans Wiedeler, with their tireless hours of dedication and Dr Jurgen Welmers, our Reproductive Veterinarian in the Netherlands and those that have shown our horses in the Netherands at the Eurobottle Cup Finals and the Keuring.

Ite is shown above riding Janka aka Anky owned by us. Lynn has trained with Ite O'Higgins-Young when possible. Anky is the dam of our 1st Premie colt, Andreas B.R.F., pictured above her photo, after his Keuring.
