Black Reign Friesians is located in the Great Lakes Region of Ontario, Canada, in beautiful Georgian Bay, 2 hours north of Toronto.  We wish to thank the many people that have enjoyed our Friesians over the years and below is a photo collection of photos from the past, over the years.

The farms contain a rubber mulch outdoor training ring 90ft X 200ft, which has proven to be a wonderful training surface, including the pre-existing regulation dressage sand outdoor ring.  So now we have 2 training surfaces.

Here is a video of the 6 in hand Friesians, comprised of our 2 horses as the lead pair and 4 of Stonecreek Friesians, all bred by Stonecreek Friesians and we show together at Ohio Valley Friesian Horse Classic.  Here is a link to the video of this:

Above, our main stable is pictured and the outdoor arena at both of our stables.

Our second stable, on a different property, has a rubber mulch 200ft. X 100ft. training surface over sand base, which has been proven to be excellent shock absorbing qualities, with the unique feature that when you work the arena, the rubber rises to the top of surface, creating an amazing surface for both our use, dressage or driving but could also be exceptional for jumping.

This facility is a certified CFIA quarantine facility, where we are able to quarantine all of the horses we import into Canada and take them directly from Toronto Pearson International Airport, where they complete their quarantine under Canadian regulations, governed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

All of the horses fly in on, either MartinAir or KLM.  We have our own Veterinarian in the Netherlands that specializes in Equine Reproduction and we are set up to do all of our quarantine in Middenbeemster, the Netherlands, where the horses get exquisite care, and where they have worked many years with our Veterinarian.  Our horses go directly to the airport the day of their flight, as we prefer they don't have to get shuffled around too often, as opposed to being dropped off the night before at the horse hotel, near the airport and then re-loaded the next day into a trailer etc, especially when handling young foals and pregnant mares.

After we have confirmation of the estimated time of arrival at Toronto Pearson, we personally see the horses through the veterinarian inspection at the airport and personally load them on our trailer and take them directly to our own quarantine facility, where we make all the necessary arrangements for our Veterinarian and the CFIA Veterinarian, to draw the necessary blood and necessary swabs etc.

Our stables are designed with safety of the horses, first and foremost.  Each quarantine horse stall has a camera monitoring each horse during the entire quarantine process, with outside walls done with FRP-fiberglass Reinforced plywood to provide strength, cleanliness and a sterile environment. The fronts of the stalls are done with board made with re-cycled plastic, also for cleanliness. Each stall has the mattress system for the horse comfort, provided by "Stablecomfort" TM, which has recycled rubber, done in tubes and joined together, with a rubber one piece top layer, also easy to keep sterile.

Our stable has the capability to scan all microchips used in the horse or pet industry, both FDX-A 10 digit and FDX-B 15 digit and also 128KHz 9 digit encrypted microchips.

Our stable uses and endorses infra-red laser therapy. There are many lasers available but infra-red is truly state of the art.

New for 2010, we have added a Happy Horse Bale Buster Hay Steamer, which is an unbelievable hit with the horses.  We definitely endorse this product, as you add a full tied bale of hay into the steamer and set the timer for freshly steamed hay.

We also use and endorse Forco feed supplement for hindgut digestion and import it into Canada.  It is endorsed by Penn State University and UC Davis.

What Foals That Are Raised Here Do

We blanket our foals within the 1st week and the above filly is a yearling now and we tossed a blanket on her this fall and you would swear she had a blanket on everyday.  Below is a weanling stallion that stood out in the pasture and was face clipped with no halter.
