*****NEWS FLASH*****
After a very long wait, Jildou finally presented us with a Doaitsen X Oege filly, March 23, 2009. Her registered name is Fentje BRF. She is full of curiosity, like her half-sister, Brecht. Fentje has her own webpage under "Fentje 2009 Filly".
Xandra had a strong, healthy Tsjerk x Olaf colt, a full brother to her 2008 colt on February 23, 2009 2a.m. E.S.T. We are very happy and since Bojka is such a nice colt, we are also happy it was a colt. He walked around for at least an hour right after being born and had a great sucking reflex and nursed at 3:40a.m. Xandra is doing well too. His photos are on the 2009 Foal Page and his own page, under "Devonte 2009 Colt". His registered name will be Devonte BRF (pronounced Day-von-tay).
NEWS IN HOLLAND
The latest biggest news in Holland is that in the 2009 Friesian Stallion Show, Doaitsen became Reserve World Champion. He is also the sire of our expected foal due in March 2009. We look forward to this, as the dam is an Oege daughter.
On July 2008 in Kootwijk, in Holland, our 2008 colt, Bojka van de Anne Hoeve became 1st Premie and Reserve Champion for the day, with a total of 39 points and 8.5 out of a possible 9 for Breed Type. Approximately only 5% Friesian foals receive 1st Premie. Bojka's sire, Tsjerk, just became a Preferent stallion.
Bojka's dam, Xandra, our Olaf studbook ster mare, was re-bred while in Holland, to Tsjerk. Both Bojka and Xandra have their own pages. Bojka's top pictures on his page, features him at the keuring in July 2008.
Jildou, our Oege studbook ster mare, was re-bred, while in Holland, to Doaitsen for a March 2009 foal. Doaitsen is the 2009 Reserve World Champion Stallion, at the annual Stallion show, held in January of every year.
NEWS IN CANADA
Other news for Black Reign Friesians, is that our 2008 colt, from our own breeding, from our full papered ster mare, went 1st Premie with 36 1/2 points (8 out of a possible 9 for trot, 8 out of 9, for overall development), at the Keuring in Paris Ontario, Canada, on September 19 2008, along with a 2nd Premie for our 2008 filly, with 35 points (all very even scores & 1 point from 1st Premie), where she particularly stood out in Racial score (breed type) with her deep rich black and exhibiting the traits of her dam & Grand-sire Oege, with the abundant hair already, and beyond the show ring, an absolute "Wow" personality.
All of the foals are equally important, however since Andreas has lived with us since day one, he had more photo coverage.
